Hello New World,
I apologize for being a day late with posting. I have been feeling a little off.
It was seven years ago, when I sat, on my bed, and said to myself “Coding is not for me!” Even though I know I don’t get a chance to talk to him that much, mind you it’s my own fault, that a good friend of mine, Mic Mountain, gave me my first version of Photoshop. I believe it was Photoshop 7. Oh wow, how wild is that?!
L7 was born
On Photoshop 7
Anyway, I started to research and play around with the editing software, by practicing photo retouches. I would look at YouTube, trying to mimic the instructor. It was then that I began to learn more and more about NAPP( National Association for Photoshop Professionals). It was then when my love for portraits started to bloom. I was amazed at what those photographers could do and I wanted to learn how to do it as well. These teachers taught me so much, and I would grow more and more. In fact, this year, if you haven’t heard, Photoshop World is being held in Florida, again. This seems like such fate that I feel as though its time for me to go back. How cool is that?!
So in honor of the anniversary, I redesigned the site, logo, and business cards. Feel free to check it out.

Hello New World,
I awoke this morning to a Trump Presidency, and my heart went into dismay. The very first action he takes, is to use executive order to dismantle Affordable Care Act (aka “Obamacare). I was hurt. I want to be a living testimony of “Obamacare”. For the past few years, I have been hired and fired way too many times to count. In fact, this has effected my self esteem, as well as financial security. The stress has taken a huge toll on my health. I have stress induced migraines, high blood pressure, and a past foot injury that haunts me to this day. I know someone who is reading this is probably stating “So what!”, but hey, this is my story. I could not afford my medication, nor my surgery, and I thank God that Obamacare was available to me. Granted, I am not the best person with change, but I am learning that it is a part of life. However, a Trump presidency that dismantles the Affordable Care Act, should not be a part of it. I am better, but not to the point where I can stand of sit for long periods of time. I was hurt that I could not attend today’s march. I heard that it was a lot of people that attended today’s event. It was so many people that DC was closed until 6pm. I thank God for all the people that came out and stood up for rights. This administration can not stand.

Hello New World,
These past couple of weeks, I have been bored out of my mind! With any operation, you are confined to your home. So, I started something that I have never done before. Binge watching! Yup, Netflix is an addiction all it’s own. So there is a movie on Netflix that had caught my eye called “Exit Through The Gift Shop, A Banksy Film”. It was a documentary about a videographer on the search to meet the legendary Banksy. The surprise twist was that, once he met him, he realized that he was an artist and developed a love for graffiti. It was to be a story on the search of Banksy and it ended up on being a story about the creation of “Mr. Brainwash”. In the movie, he started his marketing, or his transition into graffiti by promotion through stickers. He had another artist create an image of him filming, and he turned the image into a sticker. He placed his stickers all over L.A., I believe. He used these stickers to create his own hype. I thought to myself, “That is a cool way to promote myself.” So, this is an idea I may expand on. It would seem like a brilliant idea, for self promotion. I began to research a few online sites that create custom stickers. There are quite a few online sites for sticker creation. Here are a couple of sites that you may be interested in:
My thought, is to use my logo as a graffiti creation sticker. What are your thoughts?

Hello New World,
Yes, it is so true. On January 2, 2017, Yasiin Bey (a.k.a Mos Def) has officially retired from hip hop. I was shocked and saddened at the same time. One of hip hop’s vital minds, has now retired, and I’m in my feelings, here. My mind can’t comprehend this situation. I saw his last performance, in DC. He performed at the Kennedy Center and it was phenomenal. I can see how he has evolved, as an artist. Anyone that knows me, has heard this story, but I will tell you about it. When I was in high school, I shadowed with an entertainment lawyer, named Sherri Wyatt. I don’t even know if she remembers this, but I can’t forget this. Mos Def was performing at the University of Maryland, doing a campus show for the students. We, me and Sherri, was watching the performance from backstage, and he looks over at us, and I could not make this up. He goes into his hit “Ms. Fat Booty”. I was hype when he went into it. So, in my eyes, it was soooooo fitting that, at the end of his show, he performed a piano rendition of “Ms. Fat Booty”. I almost cried. I realized that he was the first artist I’ve seen with a career. He started, evolved, and retired, and I am proud to say that I saw it through. So, enough with the personal crap, how was the show?
Let me start off by saying I was surprised by the show. I did not realize how many DC cats was into Mighty Mos?! I know will sound stereotypical, but this was all I saw. I knew a handful of people that really listened to rap (hip hop). When I came up, people here was hard on go-go bands. The show starts with a screen displaying scenes from the movie “Wild Style”. I loved that movie. It made me love New York. Since going to the show, I, now, need to have “Wild Style” playing, while I listen to his music. Anyway, he starts off with new material, that no one has heard. Honestly, the new material can be kept to himself. It was garbage. Then, he goes into his established hits, like Mathematics, Oh No (with special guest Pharoahe Monch), Auditorium, and Respiration (with special guest Talib Kweli). This was the music that, literally, gave me the love of hip hop. He told a few jokes and preached to the crowd. I thought it was pretty cool. So, I have some good news and bad news. The good news is that I was able to record some of the show. The bad news is that I shot it on my iPhone. Not the best film quality, I know. Honestly, I did not think I was going to be recording. I was inspired out of left field. With that being stated, I put together a small something, something.

Good Morning New World,
I know it has been a while, and I do apologize. I am in the process of putting my life in a position where I can be back to being me. I realized that during the process of unemployment, you go through a process of redefining. It is very hard, to say the least. In the midst of unemployment, school bankruptcy, etc., we get clouded with moving forward and feel comfortable staying where we are. Wait a minute, you didn’t come here to read about my philosophy. Did you?! Probably not.
So, I will chat about something everyone needs to do. The African American Museum, in Washington DC, is finally built. The outside of the building, is a really eccentric design, but it’s what’s inside that really counts. “The National Museum of African American History and Culture is the only national museum devoted exclusively to the documentation of African American life, history, and culture. It was established by Act of Congress in 2003, following decades of efforts to promote and highlight the contributions of African Americans. To date, the museum has collected more than 36,000 artifacts. Nearly 100,000 individuals have become charter members of the museum. When the NMAAHC opens on September 24, 2016, it will be the 19th and newest museum of the Smithsonian Institution.” (nmaahc.si.edu, 2016) It has seven floor of history and, from my understanding, the floors goes from the darkest hours, on the bottom floors, to the lighter times. Unfortunately, due to my past injury, I could not view the entire museum. However, I will show you what I did see.

Good Morning New World,
I decided to put out another shoot location, in the DMV area. This one is Meridian Hill Park, or as a lot of people are familiar with Malcolm X Park. Meridian Hill Park is a structured urban park located in the Washington, D.C neighborhood of Columbia Heights; it also abuts the nearby neighborhood of Adams Morgan. The park was designed and built between 1912 and 1940. This 12 acre (49,000 m²) formally landscaped site is maintained by the National Park Service as a part of Rock Creek Park, but is not contiguous with that much larger nearby park. Meridian Hill Park is bordered by 15th, 16th, W, and Euclid Streets NW, and sits on a prominent hill 1.5 miles (2.42 km) directly north of the White House. (Wikipedia, 2016) The park is known for its beauty and community gatherings. In fact, one of the most popular activities happens on Sunday, at the Drum Circle. I have yet to go, but I heard it is quite beautiful. So, on to the real nitty gritty. I love to shoot in the park. The park has several locations to shoot from and each part looks as if you are shooting in Europe. The walls that border the park, alone, are excellent backdrops. Also, The waterfall is a must to shoot. The statues make for excellent props, while shooting. I did my first shoot there. Well, my first magazine submission shoot. The images never made it to print, however I still have the images. I did a total planning of that shoot and I was very proud of what I accomplished. When I become employed, again, I would like to start shooting again. I know, it takes time, but I am willing to wait for the latest adventure.

Good Morning New World,
These past few weeks have been nothing short of frustrating, for me. Recently, I found out that WSP (Washington School of Photography) has filed for bankruptcy, ran for a bus, which made my arthritis in my foot flare up, personal relationships in the trash, and after countless efforts on the job front, still no job. I am not even going to lie, these past few days, I have been feeling like such a loser. Needless to say, I am still waiting for a grand moment to shine, just waiting on when it will happen. So the basis of this post, is that I feel so uninspired by my life. My life is full of ups and downs (more recently downs) and I am curious to know what do you do to pull yourself back up? Let me know in the comment section, and I respond back.

Good Morning New World,
I apologize for skipping a week. I actually had plans to do some BTS of a campaign I am working on. Unfortunately, a series of events took place, in which I am going to rant on.
Sunday, August 7th, 10am- I arrived at Washington School Of Photography (which is now called Washington Artworks). The door was locked. How weird?! The website stated that the school would be closed July 31st-August 1st (which has nothing to with the shoots).
Sunday, August 7th, 10:30am- I called and no answer. NO ONE SHOWED UP! I sent an email and no word. I had to call and cancel with my client. I was officially devastated.
Sunday, August 12:00pm- I was home.
Why the timeline?
It’s to show what happened on Sunday. The project was handled by someone else due to WSP not opening. An opportunity was missed and I am still in devastation. I am not “trash talking”, just telling you my recent experience. In fact, I emailed, and called with no word.

Good Morning New World,
So in most of my recent posts, I have yet to chat about fashion. I know I have been back and forth with my personal quests, but it’s time that I brought the subject into light.
So, I received a notification of YouTubers I subscribe to, and one caught my eye. Spankie Valentine, who’s videos often range from fashion, comedy, and music, just uploaded a VR fashion video. It’s called “360 VR- Summer Lookbook”. She goes over the latest summer trends, and on a mobile device, can look left, right, up, and down. Off of that technology alone, I was AMAZED! Literally! Anyone that knows me, knows that I did not get a chance to finish the video. Don’t get me wrong, Spankie is a very cool lady, with amazing content. She is absolutely brilliant for the virtual reality idea. I just got stuck on the VR technology. In fact, the only part that I was concerned about was the lack of clarity, in the video, however, I am assuming this was due to me not having the headset needed for this technology.
All and all, I am in love with the concept. VR technology, in fashion would take the industry to a whole new level. Seriously! This would bring fashion shows to the household mom, or even that buyer that couldn’t make it to Milan. How amazing would it be to sell video of NYFW in virtual reality, to the masses? Not to be that person, but I would buy it. One of my dreams has been to shoot at NYFW, but to be able to view it on my laptop, through VR, would be just as great.
So, with that being said, I will give you all a chance to view the video, with the link below. Let me know what you think. Do you love the idea of VR in fashion or hate it?
